GENERAL SANTOS CITY (28 February 2014) - Two performing arts groups from Kiamba, Sarangani Province bagged top places in the "Kadsagayan sa Buyang: Street Dance Competition" during the last day of Kalilangan 2014 Thursday, February 27. The James L. Chiongbian National Trade School (formerly Kling National High School) and JBT Caing Elementary School of Kiamba earned the first and third places, respectively. General Santos City School of Arts and Trade took 2nd place. City Mayor Ronnel Rivera with Kalilangan director Atty. Mayor Rivera thanks World Surgical Foundation
GENERAL SANTOS CITY (21 February 2014) - A visit from City Mayor Ronnel Rivera on the World Surgical Foundation (WSF) free medical mission Thursday, February 20, spurs joy to both doctors and patients. Overseen by city government Executive Assistant of Health Enrique Voltaire Tiu, the medical operation has already served 250 patients from General Santos City and Sarangani Province starting February 17. Rivera shares his first 'Pacquiao fight' experience"
ALABEL, Sarangani (26 November 2013) - During the press conference of Congressman Manny Pacquiao at Sarangani Provincial Capitol Monday, November 25, his close friend and political ally General Santos City Mayor Ronnel Rivera shared his first time experience watching the "Pacman" fight against Brandon Rios at the Cotai Arena, Venetian Hotel, in Macau. Rivera said that Pacquiao's fight is so intense that everyone inside the arena could not take their seats as Pacquiao traded blows against an obviously outmatched Rios. He said it was not easy, especially after two consecutive losses from Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley, but with the prayers of his countrymen he made it through. Rivera supports Sarangani's medical mission
GENERAL SANTOS CITY (4 September 2013) - City Mayor Ronnel Rivera expressed support Tuesday, September 3, to Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, Vice Governor Jinkee Pacquiao and Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon in their Surgical Outreach Mission to be conducted at General Santos Emergency Hospital. With doctors from World Surgical Foundation, the medical outreach will cater to 50 patients for free medical treatment from specific disorders such as in thyroid and gall bladder.
