GENERAL SANTOS CITY (16 June 2014) - City Mayor Ronnel Rivera witnesses the annual ceremonial burning of worn out Philippine Flags on Friday, June 13, at Camp Fermin Lira. This ceremony is mandated under Republic Act 8491 or the "Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines” in which all worn out flags used in schools and any institution will be burned to prevent any misuse.
