City highway brightens up

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (23 July 2014) - City Mayor Ronnel Rivera speaks after switching on the new 180 LED streetlights of the Hadano Park-to-DARBCI highway Monday, July 21, as part of his streetlighting project. In this 4.5-km stretch, LED lights illuminate numerous establishments such as the Mindanao Polytechnic College, Holy Trinity College Annex, the Citi Hardware, and some adjacent residences. Also, 105 temporary sodium streetlights were simultaneously lit up in the 1.3-km Makar-to-Hadano Park while the LED streetlights are still not in place. As of July 22, the electrification and street lighting project of Mayor Rivera in partnership with the City Engineer’s Office, Department of Public Works and Highways, and SOCOTECO II is already 60% completed--with a running cost of P14,451,125 out of the P27,971,394 earmarked for the project.
