GENERAL SANTOS CITY (08 May 2014) - Children beneficiaries of Community Teach Program in Lanton Elementary School, Barangay Apopong pay attention as City Mayor Ronnel Rivera teaches them how to read. The Community Teach is an educational initiative of the city government in partnership with Smart Communications, Department of Education and RD Foundation Incorporated that offers remedial reading classes to selected incoming Grade 3 pupils from 10 public elementary schools in the city. Education is one of the three priority areas the mayor is focusing on under his banner program CLEAN GenSan (Creating a Livable Environment for All Generals towards Nation-Building).
