GENERAL SANTOS CITY (22 July 2013) - Members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) convene for a disaster assessment Monday, July 22, at the City Hall conference room. Some 32 families were affected by flooding on Friday in some parts of the city due to continuous heavy rains. The city government under the leadership of Mayor Ronnel Rivera seeks the relocation of residents from identified high-risk disaster areas and those areas prone to severe flooding as one of the immediate and long term solutions to the problem.
