GENERAL SANTOS CITY (06 March 2014) - The city government is set to finish the construction of the General Santos City Business Service Hub building this year.
City Mayor Ronnel Rivera conducted a site visit Monday (March 03) along with Office of the Building Official head Engr. Juan Marco Antonio Reyes.
According to Engr. Reyes, the building which is located at the back of the Old City Hall is set to be finished before 2014 closes.
P104 million have already been spent on the project which has a total budget of P135 million according to Reyes.
Mayor Rivera said the building is expected to be fully operational as early as January 2015.
The General Santos City Business Service Hub will be a "one-stop shop" for government services such investment promotion and facilitation, building and occupancy permit issuances, and business licensing and registration.
Mayor Rivera also planned for the government offices situated inside in the Old City Hall and other areas to be transferred in the new service hub building including the office of the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office.
A P7 million budget has already been allocated to refurbish the Old City Hall to become GenSan's museum. (GENSAN INFO OFFICE/Ian John M. Lagare)
