Economic Summit launched to redefine city’s economy profile

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (9 October 2013) - Through the initiative of City Mayor Ronnel Rivera, the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO) of the city government launched the first annual Economic Summit held at Venue 88 on October 3 which was attended by economic stakeholders, the private sector, non-government organizations and government agencies. The summit would innovate the city's economy profile into an agri-industrial and trade hub. Also, the Economic Summit was held to find ways to mitigate the heavy dependence of the city to the fishing industry. (GENSAN INFO OFFICE/Russell Delvo)
