GENERAL SANTOS CITY (13 August 2013) - City Mayor Ronnel Rivera (2nd from right) holds a disaster risk reduction and management council meeting at Baluan Barangay Hall Tuesday, August 6. The mayor urgently convened the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Flashfloods as Barangay Baluan was submerged again in water. Rivera also acknowledged the problems in the urban planning of the city that marked out flood prone areas. Together with City Administrator Atty. Arnel Zapatos (extreme right), Rivera pressed the TWG to immediately form a committee in coordination with concerned local government units to survey the drainage systems from Barangay Lagao to Barangay Baluan.
