GENERAL SANTOS CITY (27 December 2013) - The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (UPAA) has brought the iconic Lantern Parade in the festivity of "Paskuhan sa GenSan 2013" at Oval Plaza Ground on December 21. UPAA GenSan Chapter president Atty. Rey Cartojano has expressed his gratitude to City Mayor Ronnel Rivera and GenSan tourism chairperson Jane Rivera for letting University of the Philippines participate in one of the most celebrated festivals in the city. Cartojano also disclosed that the Lantern Festival will be a regular event of Paskuhan sa Gensan. The Lantern Parade is a traditional fest in UP that started in 1922.
