New high school breaks ground in Calumpang

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (15 March 2014) - City Mayor Ronnel Rivera and newly-installed Schools Division Superintendent Gildo Mosqueda (in gray barong with sunglasses) lay the time capsule at the ground breaking for a new public high school in Opring Village, Barangay Calumpang Wednesday, March 12. The 1.3-hectare site, which was formerly owned by the Cahilsot family, was bought by the city government for P4.9 million. The capsule laying ceremony also signified the turnover of the site from the city government to DepEd Gensan. The new academe will then be named as Calumpang National High School, an annex of General Santos City National High School. (GENSAN INFO OFFICE/Russell Delvo)
